Braxton Miller continues his winning ways

Braxton Miller continued his winning ways by Capturing the APBA’s National Championship Modified 350 hydroplane class at Consantine, MI. The hydroplane reaches 70mph with a 350cc modified Japanese Yamato racing engine. Over 325 entries competed in 11 classes at the Modified Nationals. Braxton finish 2nd in the 500 hydroplane against 22 drivers from all over the US. Braxton won two out of four heats and had the fastest heat time out of the 22 contestants. Winner of the race was a Unlimited Hydroplane driver, J Michael Kelly, often considered the best driver in the sport.

Braxton Miller wins his fourth Championship this year

Braxton Miller continue to add to his impressive resume by winning his fourth Championship this year at the National Boat Racing Association’s Long Course National Championship at Lake Raccoon, Centralia, Il. This is  his fourth National win this year, with two APBA’s Winter Nationals at Tabor City, NC., the United States Title Series OS-Y 400 at Depue, Il., and the C Mod. Hydro class at Centralia. He is the overall high point leader in NBRA and leads in points in the 400 Mod Hydro in the American Power Boat Association. Braxton will compete at the Thunder on Wolf Creek hydroplane races August 19-20 at Wolf Creek Park, Grove, Ok. He is a student at the Tulsa Tech in the A and P school in Jenks, Ok.

Thunder On Wolf Creek 2017

The 5th Annual Thunder On Wolf Creek racing event is scheduled for August 18-20, 2017.

  • Races start at 12:00 pm on August 18th and at 12:30 pm on Sunday August 20th.
  • $5,000 or more in door prizes during the races Saturday and Sunday.
  • Mayor’s Cup to high point driver Saturday
  • Food Vendors, 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
  • Car Show on Saturday.

Brent Malone of the Grove Tourism Bureau wants to make Grove the Boat Racing Capital of the US. Presently we host NBRA Hydro races, SDA drag boat races and. A a big boat Shoot Out. Other group he would like to pursue is the Unlimited Hydro races, F1 group and USTS. Numbers are important, filling motels and bring race fans are also important. Had a friend that run the Fun Boat Store in Norman ,Ok that raced a Tohatso motor. Are they still around??

That yellow boat was theirs, we purchased it from Mike.
